Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance My HOME Program Funding Suspended New Savings for Military Homebuyers ~ MD Homefront $50 Million Initiative $30 Million Targeted Areas Initiative Offers 2.875% Interest Rates for Maryland Homebuyers Buy Suitland Initiative: Up to 5% of Home Purchase Price to First-Time Homebuyers Up to 7% for Local Civic Employees Up to $10,000 Downpayment / Closing Costs Assistance with American Dream Downpayment Initiative Receive Up to $15,000 for Down Payment from Participating Banks Maryland Veterans Homeownership Initiative for Prince George's County Sheriff & Police Officer Tax Breaks Up to $35,000 for Those Who Work and Buy a Home in College Park The Prince George's County Department of Housing and Community Development's (DHCD) My HOME Program has committed funding for over 300 down payment and closing costs assistance loans, making the American Dream of homeownership possible for many low and moderate income buyers. DHCD has temporarily suspended funding for the My HOME Program and is currently taking steps to identify additional resources in order to begin accepting applications as soon as possible. The My HOME Program has not been terminated; it has suspended the intake of new applications effective November 7, 2012. Applications submitted for processing as of November 7, 2012 will be funded on a ready to close basis, or placed on a waiting list, when additional funding becomes available. Once additional funds have been identified, the My HOME Program will resume taking applications. DHCD said the My HOME Program website at www.princegeorgescountymd.gov/myhome will be updated to reflect new information in the program's funding status and periodic e-mails will be sent to participating lender and REALTOR® partners. Please note that funding is still available through the Buy Suitland Program, for buyers interested in the Suitland NSP Target Census Tracts.
